Relationships

Healthy relationships are essential to our quality of life. Social connections enhance our sense of well-being and overall health, and help to determine the amount of satisfaction we enjoy.

Family, friends and other people in our lives offer us companionship, comfort and support. However, some relationships and ways of relating can be unhealthy, giving rise to frustration, pain, loneliness and low self-esteem. Often we experience ongoing difficulty resolving conflict and communicating clearly with a partner or others. Some of us are subject to workplace bullying or name calling, or face accusations and other forms of abuse. We may hold back from starting a conversation with someone new, or find ourselves consistently focusing on other peoples’ needs at the expense of our own.

Working together, we will explore and attend to the specific relationship problems impacting you and your goals. Areas of focus may include relationship patterns and boundaries, communication and conflict resolution, life skills, self-esteem, and social anxiety. By fostering greater self awareness, you will develop strategies and tools to build your resiliency, and learn to form and maintain respectful and satisfying relationships.
